Freelance editing and writing for business have been my paid work for over fifteen years now. I love working with individuals and teams to strengthen their voices & make their prose shine.
Editing
I edit novels and short story collections for a range of publishers and individuals. I'm a sensitive reader and can help shape fiction/experimental writings too. I hold a qualification in editing from the London College of Communication and worked as both a writer and editor for BBC magazines. During my Creative Writing MA at UEA, I learned a lot about editing fictional works with care and positivity. My clients have included StoryTerrace, Faber Academy, TLC, The Reader Berlin, and more. I am currently enrolled onto the Arts Council-funded Indie Novella Aspiring Editors programme, with a view to further honing and developing my editing skills. This is a remote programme over 12 months, and I will undertake it alongside the first year of my PhD.
Copywriting/Content Creation
I have a background in international qualitative research for marketing agencies and have researched and written content for brands Nokia, Unilever, and Oxfam, to BBC World News, ITV, Volvo (Facebook, Twitter promos), and BBC (leaflets, EDMs, and more). I have also written website copy/papers for start-ups and businesses in general. I pride myself on understanding the brief, being reliable and great to work with, and delivering my copy on time, often to tight deadlines.
